Where does my loyalty lie?

Time to think. Time to think real hard.

Where does my loyalty lie? Mid-Long Distance? Or Pole Vault?

Actually, I have more or less come to a decision. A decision that will not do any good to one of the parties. It was a really hard decision to make. But I have considered these things since last week. Tough decision, I tell you. The fact that I post this message shows my willingness to train really hard for the event I want to compete in. I promise I will tell Sir.

I promise I will.

29 August 2008, Friday, Teacher's Day

What a crazy week. A hell of a week. I know I will DEFINITELY fail my stupid physics test, but the only thing I am unsure of is whether I will get a low or a high F9. The test was absurdly hard, so hard to comprehend, and so complex. None of the questions came out in the worksheets given out by TanHC. Sigh, at least Biology Test and Biology SPA Skills went pretty well.

Teacher's Day. Nothing extraordinary. Except that Jonathan Seng got fired by Ms Esther Cheong again. I felt rather guilty about him getting scolded because it was me who shared the teacher's day card with him. I dont know. But I just feel guilty. I told Cheong that she had misunderstood Jonathan's message for her but to no avail. Next, she requested to see Jonathan personally. What to do? I have to tell JonSeng, dont I? He took the news with grippling fear. He wrote his summary with his trembling hands. Fine, these are all exaggerations, but who wouldnt be afraid if Esther Cheong demanded to see you? However, everything was not as bad as I thought it would be, but some things she said were still deadly and merciless. Jon was fortunate because Esther didnt have the time to continue her rapidfire. Haiz, what a bad way to end teacher's day. lol, come to think of it, none of the teacher's day I had in Hwa Chong over the past few years was interesting either. sigh. It's always the same old boring stuff.

Yeah, today I felt especially tired. Definitely because I slept at 3am yesterday. Nah, I didnt do work. I was playing cards with Hong Wei, Jordan and Si Heng for 3 whole hours. Hard to believe? Believe it. That was probably the best bonding night we had ever since we moved into boarding school.

Man U's gonna play against Zenit St Petersburg for the Euro Super Cup. No doubt it WILL BE a small title, but it will definitely be a psychological boost for the players and we all manu fans. So let's go, Anderson!!

Nastia Liukin fever has more or less diminished. Probably due to the immense influence by Binglin and Fang. Binglin is MAD about Shawn Johnson. Fang too, not that crazy though, but he played a great part in criticizing Nastia. However, I have to make this clear. She is still my number 1 sports woman, also my number 1 sports athelete.

To Fang: I'll criticize Shawn Johnson only after she has grown taller. If not, I dont see any point because I will always have to use the same point to criticize her. Take that, Fang!!

Nick Pitera is insanely good

Nick Pitera. The guy who sings Bleeding Love like Leona Lewis. Except that he isn't Leona Lewis. The first video is on him singing "Bleeding Love" by Leona Lewis, the second vid is on "No One" by Alicia Keys. a great job, i should say, not everyone can do that.

Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis

No One by Alicia Keys

Black out your screen, and you would think it is Leona Lewis and Alicia Keys. Never thought it could be a guy.

The morning was horrible. JunYi and I had actually planned to play a tennis match early in the morning, but the weather let us down. Every other was favourable, all except the @!#%^%&# weather. Sigh. It's alright. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise. As usual, I embarked on my task to search for Nastia Liukin. On the Internet , of course. Learned that she is a relatively good speaker and speaks with an American accent, no sign that she was Russia-born. And I tried to find all the 2008 interviews of her. So that is how I spent my morning, searching for Nastia Liukin. I can't just get enough of her. Addicted. Obsessed.

Oh, I tried to blend different USA women gymnasts together. Here's my formula to the most appealing female gymnast:
Personality of Shawn Johnson + Looks of Nastia Liukin + Body of Alicia Sacramone

I can't find any software that can create this idealistic gymnast. So no picture.

Evening was great. Watched track olympics. YES, USA OWNED IN THE RELAYS. It's alright even though USA didnt win as much gold medal as China. At least they did well in gymnastics.

Highlight of the Beijing Olympics 2008: Women Gymnastics
Highlight of the Women Gymnastics: United States of America
Highlight of the United States of America: Nastia Liukin.

See the link? Hence, Nastia Liukin is the highlight of the Summer Games 2008.

Friday - End of Sabbatical Week

Sigh. Sabbatical week has come to an end. This means that lesson is going to dominate the following week. How dreadful.

Helped out Mr Sng at Sec3 PTG. Whole evening gone.

Emo post today. Nothing much to say.

Wait.....Nastia Liukin is hot and she's back in Texas.

Why am I a Singaporean?!! Why?!?!

Tennis - An Addiction

So, second session of tennis.

Things just got better, because we got to play matches.

However, we will have to work on our serves.

Other than that, everything else was fun.

Most Addictive Sport Ever!

It was a great deal of fun last night.

And I got addicted.

I did not take drugs.

There wasn't any girls present.

It was just rackets and green balls.

Fang and Shi Ping, I'm sorry for taking up the course alone.

Alone (definition) - not including either/both of you

The sport was bloody addictive!

And the worst thing is, there is no cure for it.

Nastia Liukin / Sabbatical

First and foremost: Nastia Liukin
She's brilliant. An Olympic silver for Uneven Bars. Just too good.
Wait, watch this youtube video first (take note of what happened at 1:58)
And remember to unmute your speakers

The clip lasts only for 4 minutes.

DID YOU SEE THAT?! Apart from her incomparable elegance and utmost graciousness, she is tremendously intelligent and quick and smart and resilient. Surely no one can argue that. Even when she lost her balance and was so close to falling off the beam, Nastia thought so quickly and turned the imbalance into an aesthetic move. Perhaps that was a precaution prepared long before but still, it was quick reflexes. Look at her! Look at her actions! One word: Wow. A champion in the making (or has already been made).

It's set then. I'm staying in Singapore for good. Sigh. The sabbatical week was really cool, at least for the first two days. The course is about war films and you've guessed it right, we do nothing else but watching war films and of course, discuss them. The movies were fantastic and the discussions were reasonably hmmmmm....fun. I enjoy this course a lot. Really. It's really interesting.

Come to think of it, it's all fate that I am not going to Sabah. See, first of all, I thought I was disappointed in withdrawing from the OBS trip, but I know that I was heaving a sigh of relief at the back of my heart. Secondly, the sabbatical course I chose highly appealed to me, though I initially didnt have any idea or confidence in my choice. But two days have passed, and I'm enjoying every single bit of the course. Thirdly, before I fell sick and transformed into a zombie last week, I was pretty much worried about my HRP after I heard from some people that the deadline is on 25th August, one day after OBS. What I felt was apprehension, worry and uncertainty. So to speak, I thought going for OBS would screw my grades. Most important of all, because I was sick, that's why I know of a US gymnast with the name of Nastia Liukin. I shan't elaborate on this (have already separated a section for her). Then I fell sick, I guess the virus was passed on to me by someone living on the same level as me (have no idea who that is course people were already sick when we checked in).

All of these link! BUT it is not to say that I fell sick on purpose. It's just that I was trying to understand the dilemma I face. Maybe I wished too much. Maybe I got what I wished for. Maybe it's all fate. Damn it. Maybe if there is no "maybe" I may be in Sabah now. Just one quote for today:

"You may get what you wished for"

Notice there's a good and bad side in this quote.

that's all. tata

Day of Records

Record (1) - Michael Phelps broke Mark Splitz record of 7 gold medals in a single Games by obtaining a remarable (well, this is definitely an understatement) 8 GOLD MEDALS. The result of the 4 x 100 medley men was not unexpected, since the US team have won it for so many times. Phelp's grin explains his delight. But I still thought his victory yesterday in 100m butterfly by a hundreth of a second was the best race I have ever watched. So there we have it, our first record of the day.

Record (2) - Singapore Table Tennis. Score 3-0, in favour of China. What can I say? The gold medal has been theirs (China's) ever since the Olympics started. No sign of falter. One slice, and the singapore's team is dead. Whatever the case, we still got a medal. A silver medal. The table tennis team definitely deserve some commendation.

Record (3) - Nastia has topped my Hottest Women Alive list. It is a record of THREE DAYS. Usually, my top hottest woman will change every day, but after three days, Nastia Liukin is still VERY VERY HOT. This is most probably because of her Russian-American look and also that I visited her website several times in the morning. A pity that she didnt win the gymnatics floor. Got second. BUT she's still hot.

LOLLOLLLOLLOLOLLOLOLOL

That's all, wonder how OBS people are doing over at sabah

Oh yeah, I keep forgetting this point.

Record (4) - Shi Ping's still not as tall (have to be very careful with my words if not he will chase me down the streets with a chopper in his hands ). A record 929884792317465481379273107386129212837 days! Universe Record!!!! Whoots!!

Suspense

Felt much, much better today. I even thought that I was fit enought to go sabah, which in any case, is not feasible. First of all, I am still pretty unsure of my own medical condition. Secondly, Mr Chewty and Ms HuangSJ have allocated me to a new sabbatical course, and how then could I possibly change my mind at the eleventh hour? It's totally out of the question, out of my hands too.

Okay, today was full of suspense.

Si Heng sms-ed me and said that he was sick too. Probably got the same illness as me. But his situation is worse off than mine because he realized that he was sick only this morning. So, he has very little time to make a decision on whether to go sabah or not. In the end, he obliged and decided to risk his health for the camp. I don't know whether this is a good decision but I pray that he come back in one piece, alive and kicking. So remember to take your medicine dude, if you want to survive at the camp. *Crossing my fingers really tight*

Next suspense of the day was when Michael Phelps battled for his 7th olympic gold medal. how amazingly unsurprising. He won by a hundreth of a second. brilliant. "absolutely brilliant" was the only thing the commentator could say. his arm movement was so fast that he managed to touch the wall before Milorad Cavic could reach the end. Phelp's gold medal was not as convincing though, because his victory in 100m butterfly was the result of a mixture of luck and skill.

Third suspense. Played Call of Duty 3 on PS2. kept dying and couldn't seem to find a way out. Squandered about 2 hours. damn it. but the game was a hell lot of fun.

Fourth suspense. Usain Bolt won the 100m Men's final. 9.69 sec. World record. And the guy's only 21 years old. what can i say? easy race for him, no fight from any of his opponents, not even Powell (got fifth I think) or Tyson Gay (didnt even qualify for finals). He still has a lot to show the world that's for sure.

Final suspense. "A girl". On Yu Song's tagboard. knows who she is. ask yu song for her name to confirm. he did not oblige. but he said "she is a brilliant athlete". how did he know who she is? God, I just wasted like 30 secs of my life typing this (not-so-useful) paragraph. No offense (varies on different people).

Damn. I want to go sabah so badly.

Crime for Passion

Today was well, short. Literally and figuratively

Short (1) - I was sick (at least much better now). So I went to school like a zombie, emitting oozy fluid from my nose every 2 minutes. Finally, I could not take it and went to see a doctor with Mr Sng. Thanks to him. Oh yeah, I got like damn high B4 for my geography- 64%. Okay, this is getting out of hand, why am I always so unlucky to miss that meagre half mark which could have given me a B3? That's it, this is the third test that I missed out a higher grade by half a mark. How unfortunate. Couldn't spot any marks to fight for though. Besides, I was so sick that I was praying for the test paper checking to end soon, so it's not likely of me to bleed for that miserable half mark. But whatever the case, I am quite contented with my marks because I expected myself to get a C6, hence the smiley face. But the whole thing was kinda ironic.

Short (2)- Mr Sng brought me to see a doctor. So I get to skip chinese lesson (heard from Goh Id that I got 62% for Chinese- at least it's not a high B4). Mr Sng was really nice, because he specially took time out to bring me to the doctor.

Short (3)- The consultation with the doctor was tremendously short- less than 5 minutes. I now know how priceless time is, with you having to pay $7 for a minute wasted. The visit to the doctor thus came as a price, at a costly sum of $35.

Short (4)- I slept like 3-4 hours in the afternoon when I came home because I felt terribly ill. Went to bed at about 2pm, and BAMN, it was already 6pm when I woke up, seeing Singapore's table tennis team celebrating as if they have become champions. Well, but they truly deserve the finals and oh finally, we can get a medal! We'll definitely get a medal, the problem is just the colour of the medal. I guess it'll be shimmering, shiny, eye-catching and a-colour-not-too-different-from-white.

Short (5)- Watched a tiny bit of olympics. Women Gymnastics!!!! Nastia Liukin has a pretty face, and reasonably good figure. YES! USA finally won their first gymnastics gold medal, and it came from Nastia! So by looking at her, time really flies, and before I knew it, she was already on the podium, standing tall above Shawn Johnson and a Chinese gymnast. Nastia is my new female superstar. Do look out for her! LOL

That's about it. Damn, I missed the 8km time trial.

P.S. Nastia Liukin is sizzling!

Oh yah. One more thing.
Short (6)- Shi Ping's short.

Bad Day

Everything has gone terribly wrong today. well, almost. But the good thing didnt turn out to be a good thing after all, if you get what i mean.

I started off the day horribly with a freaking sore throat. I thought this sore throat was unavoidable. Every swallow was pure torture. Every sip of water is like drinking poision. Every mouthful of food burns my throat. Every word I say feels like I have been strangled really hard. It's plain torture. It's more than pain.I can't do anything about it, except to pray that this is just temporary and hoping that my cough medicine will cure my sore throat problem. If only a miracle will happen.

I got B3 for Chemistry. Quite contented with my marks because it is finally not a 'C' grade. But it would gave been better if Kong just give me ever-so-precious half mark that will pull my grade up to an A2. It's the same as Biology. 24/30 for both subjects, just half more mark to A2. sigh.

Then SLim called for 3H3 to meet him at 11am. Of course, it couldnt be more than a nagging session. Unexpectedly, it turned out to be a roaring session. He repeated continuously that our class have regressed ever since term 1. Honestly, our class doesnt really have class spirit- we all work individually and there are also cliques in our class. The Aphelion people hang out together, then Ming-Joel-Ephraim, then the Pro-edians. We do not mix around with one another. The whole scolding session was mainly because of our dipping grades.

What made the whole scolding session worse was that SLim openly commended me (and Kah How) in the middle of the scolding. Like WTH, why couldnt he choose a better time to do that (if it is really that neccesary)? I feel extremely awkard and embarrassed (ironically) because I got praised when everyone else in the class got blasted. Oh god, I am extremely worried about things between me and my class. I was wondering whether they will think that I am arrogant and proud because of the history test incident. Guys, I really am not proud of it, and honestly speaking, I feel rather guilty for scoring such marks. I dont want people to misunderstand me as being a show-off or an arrogant asshole. really, I dont want to have poor relationships with my peers.

Now I know how hard it is to be modest. I also realise that being in the spotlight is not nice at all.

Soccer match for third placing was rather disappointing. We lost 5-2 to Siheng's team. I didnt play cos I was sick. Saw the looks on Lester's and Junyi's faces. Disappointment. Dejection. Dread. Why dread? Dread that more goals are bound to be scored against them. I am so sorry guys for falling sick. sorry. I admit I contributed very little to the team and any credit should go to the other members and not me.

This is an emo post, one that I have not written for some time. But today is a good day for reflection, since so many things have happened all within 24 hours. Hope dearly that tomorrow will be a better day.

Praying really hard.

Money No Enough

Lol. National Day yesterday. How exciting. One can actually predict the performances at the NDP. Come on, every year is so similar tht i wonder why S'poreans still bother watching the NDP. And god bless the earth, the fireworks presentation was plain boring, if you compare it with that of the Beijing Olympics.

So, went to watch Money No Enough 2. Was alright I guess. Extremely critical of the government, which is why I enjoyed the sarcasm a lot. Jack Neo may have directed (and acted) in many movies, but I dont think any one of which has stood out prominently. All of his movies revolve around the same themes: family, love, society, etc. And his movies always come with criticisms of the government. He should change his paradigm towards movie-making, in my opinion. Well, what's for me to critique him? His "Money No Enough 2" was still watch-able but not exceptionally captivating.

8th August

National Celebrations today, nothing interesting to talk about.

Played street soccer for Balls and Post. Thought my goalkeeping was really really really bad and sucky. Sorry guys, those goals are my fault. Am feeling guilty about it now.

Ran 8km time trial at Mac. Thought the timing was reasonable for me : 36:17. Just have to take things slowly, and progressively.

Went home from Boarding school. lol

August 5th, 2008

Boring day. Class phototaking, stupid hip-hop, maths understandable, Biology as funny, Chemistry-what to say, Eng: Ms Dry, according to Goh ID, then killer physics spa test. killer ie it was bloody hot in that torture chamber.

yay, boarding school connection is damn fast. yipee. tmr go immigration centre to make IC. means have to leave early.

OH YEAH, Hip-Hop lesson was stupid. The dumbest ever. That ponytailer (Hip Hop instructor) couldn't be more bastard than he was today. Thank god it was the last lesson. He wanted everyone class to perform in front of others. So we were like OMGWTFBBQ. But then we still obliged. 3H2 went first then 3H3. Lol. That ponytailer suddenly talked about some juggler learning things fastest when he has been encouraged. Like WTF, I DONT SEE THE FCUKING LINK. Then I damn buai song him then say him "Quick LAR". Then he just stared at me like some assh***. Then just continue. then dance dance dance. I was quite worried that he would confront him. But phew, nothing happened. Then when I went back to boarding school, Jun Yi said the ponytailer was damn pissed today (the period after my PE lesson when the SMTPers have their PE). Lol. Instantaneously, I know the reason why. Of course it is me lar! zzz. He was so pissed then he started hurling vulgarities.

LOL. At least I learnt something today. lame hip hop lessons. Like as if we gained much from it.

Checked into Boarding School

Sunday. The first day of the week. Or maybe the last day of the week. But more importantly, it’s one day after my birthday. So that means I’m 15 years and one day old. Wow.
Monday. The second day of the week. Or maybe the first day of the week. Either which, Monday is still the worst dread day of the week- I get Monday blues, you see. And what makes the Monday on 4th August even more dreadful is that there will be Literature and History tests. How exciting and exhilarating.

Yeah, checked into HC Boarding School. Second time staying here, though the first time was not very restricted by rules and boundaries. Was initially very excited about the prospect of living with siheng, junyi and nicklui. Still as excited, but it has somehow faded, mainly because the connection in this compound totally sucks. It takes 5 mins to load to hotmail.com and MSN messenger is not even bloody accessible. Boom, there goes my life, social life.
Today was pretty amazing, actually. Especially at dinner. After the meal, surprisingly and unexpectedly, the lights went off. At that moment, I had a vague idea of what was coming next, but the image in my mind was not exactly very convincing. But the flicker over the next table credited my thoughts. Mr Sng was holding a squarish chocolate cake with candles on it. Honestly, I was quite amazed, surprised, I should say. I thought my birthday was no big deal. “It’s just another day” was what I thought yesterday, and I did mention that in yesterday’s post. But what happened over dinner came as a total shock to me. HA, THANKS MR SNG, for remembering my birthday and going the expense to buy me a cake. APPRECIATE IT ALOT!! Thanks, really, thanks.

So, it has been 8 hours since I have checked it. Time really does flies. Really do hope relationship with siheng and junyi improves and not worsen.

-Writing on the Best Post-Birthday-First-Day ever :)

Pop Goes the Fifteen-Years-Old Weasel

Lol. Happy birthday to me. Somehow I dont give a big deal of whether today was my birthday or not (2nd August). Weird. In fact, I didnt even remember that my birthday was coming so until yesterday's (1st August) late evening. Whatever, I guess birthdays are hi-and-bye kind of thing. One moment you are savouring that 24 hours, unwilling to let it go, the next moment, it was snatched away from you without you knowing it. Bam! There goes another day. Just another day. Ha, why am I so skeptical? lol. Maybe it was the after-watching-batman-and-joker-fight-it-out effect.

So today morning was boring. Reading through crucible notes. sigh. then I got tired of those words and started youtub-ing. Quite a fruitful haul.

Presenting to you Novac Djokovic and his Impressions, take a look:

It was the best moment I had on my birthday. Djokovic was damn funny. hilarious. I feel that he imitated Rafal Nadal and Maria Sharapova the best. Love his antics so much.

then started reading some history notes. nothing much to talk about.

Went to Lot 1 with family. Had some jap fish. cant remember what it's called, but it sure is delicious. Watched Batman, thought that it was pretty okay. Maybe I was too tired. But I could not understand some parts of the movie. But overall, it was cool, very nice. love the Joker for his creativity, not his sadism. :)

And of course, thanks to all who sent me greetings !! Appreciated!!!! :D And all those who did not.... haha

One (hint:girl) even called me, and another (second hint: girl) was the first to wish me a happy birthday. Period. No more girls. All others are guys. Sigh. a bit crestfallen. But the phonecall lifted my fallen spirits. LOL. HAHA, THANKS DUDES AND EVERYONE ELSE.

See, my birthday has just ended. Back to reality.

One week of exams

sigh. what a week. a very busy one indeed. so busy till I dont even have the time to blog. There were tests every single day of the week, and we all got so stressed that everyone went bonkers during this period. Goh Id was the most affected victim, followed by Ling Feng, then Zhi Hao, finally Shi Cheng. Terrible occurences in the classes, especially during science and languages classes. We spent most of our lesson time laughing our heads off at the humourous eccentricity of Goh Id, the perversed actions of Ling Feng, the sprained neck of umbrella-spinning Zhi Hao, and finally the incessant laughing machine of Shi Cheng.

THE WHOLE WEEK WAS A BLAST. TOTALLY.

Goh Id went around screwing up the microscopes in the biology lab. well, it wasnt really screwing them up, but he just did something till the light could not pass through to the eyepiece. HAHAHA. AND YIP CHENG WAI THOUGHT THE MICROSCOPES WERE SPOILT BECAUSE THE LIGHT BULBS WERE BEING ON FOR TOO LONG, AND QUICKLY PROMPTED ONE OF MY CLASSMATES TO SWITCH OFF THE POWER SWITCH. "Quick! Quick! Turn off the switch! The light bulb is too hot! Quick!" HAHAHA. IT WAS BLOODY HILARIOUS!!!!! Then Xu Jie and Goh Id were playing this-is-my-chair game. And in the end, the victim was Dr Yip although Goh Id was eventually heaved out of his seat by Xu Jie. She was SO worried that Goh Id had fallen and repeatedly asked whether he was fine. "Eh, your back okay anot? Got hit your head? Need to see doctor anot?" Haha. She was really funny. Dr Yip's the best teacher we have.

Then there was Ling Feng and Zhi Hao during chinese lesson. Zhi Hao acted as if he had sprained his neck or something and turned his head like some fagot. In fact, he 'couldnt' even move his head, so he shifted his entire body instead. ha, he looked so funny with his neck elongated like some giraffe. Then Ling Feng tried to tease him by carressing his back and neck. Finally, Zhi Hao could not bear the caress and said," Who was that?! You better tell me before I murder all of you!" He meant me, shi cheng and lingfeng. haha. Eventually, he couldnt bear his laughter and started releasing his emotions to a point when LeePL (chinese teacher) put him to the seat in front. JOKER.

Just a summary of the entire week. highlights. Oh yeah, and there were those killer test, sigh, dont feel like talking about them.

LOL. Hwa Chong lost to Raffles in the RI-HCI Shield Challenge. We lost floorball, won basketball by a single point and lost 4-1 to those raffles dudes. how embarrasing. The soccer team was not playing soccer. and kudos to aaron, xuean, akilan and siheng for saving some pride for hwachong.
