Untitled (because I cannot make up my mind)

More often than not, we are tasked to make decisions, whether it is for a group of people, another individual, or simply just for yourself. To be very frank, I find making decisions the toughest job one has to undertake in his or her life. Technically, it's not really a job (because you do not get paid); it is sort of an obligation, a duty, a responsibility on your part to make a decision if you are ever given a range of choices. It's not difficult to make a decision for someone else, because you can see better (or so you think) from an outsider's perspective. But when it comes to making decision for oneself, it's a different ball game altogether.

Have you ever contemplated over a decision you have to make for a very very long time, but can NEVER make your mind? If you have ever felt that way, congratulations, you are human. And you are not alone. If you haven't. I advice you to see a doctor. Most people, if not all, love to spend time weighing the pros and cons of a certain choice before reaching a decision. There's nothing wrong about that. In fact, it's awesome that one is particular about his choices. However, some of us may spend ages weighing the benefits and harms, but can not make up his/her mind. It can be about what you want for dinner, or the college you will like to go, or even the girl you will like to woo. If one doesn't make up his mind fast, he ends up getting none of it. Or even worse.

Some may say that it is indecisiveness on one's part, probably unwillingness to accept the consequences (good and/or bad) that may ensue as a result of one's decision. I admit there exists such an apprehension at times, but I daresay that not many people in today's world are willing to take the risk. If you know that your decision may bring harm to yourself (or even to others), but may be extremely beneficial as well if nothings goes wrong, are you willing to gamble with your future, your life?

We all have to make choices. Every minute. Every day. Every year. Everytime. Even if it is a bitch-fight over whether to buy the apple pie or the chocolate brownie, or a dilemma over whether to be the president of the United States or a char kway teow hawker. Every choice you make can be life-defining. But do not succumb to the conformity imposed by the environment around you.

Be confident of your choices. Be resolute about your decisions. Most importantly, be confident. And have faith. Lots of faith. So ultimately, if you managed to become the world's greatest footballer or just simply managed to be a loving, caring househusband, you are gratified with your life and of course....with yourself.

Guess what, I'm a victim myself. Surprise, surprise..

NOOO!!!

NOOOOO!!!!!!!

This cannot be happening. Ladies and gentlemen, we have Taylor and...Taylor. Apparently they are together. Hopefully not (but they are). Dang, I thought Taylor Swift's singlehood will last longer than that. Seems like I have been deceiving myself all this while. Hold on Taylor, (turn away Lautner, not talking to you), I will tell you why you should not dive so deep into the relationship just yet.

1. Having the same first name sounds weird enough. You will not want to be called Mrs Taylor Lautner. It'll be a really awkward moment for your kids when there is a meet-the-parents session in the future. Think about the little ones.

2. You should keep your singlehood. It's hard to come by. Look at all the other celebrities who had boyfriends. Take Miley Cyrus for instance. She got Kevin Jonas as her bf and BAM, there goes the gossip news. You don't want that to happen, do you?

3. Taylor Lautner looks Mexican.

4. And werewolf-ish.

5. You know, maaaaayybe you will meet a better guy in the future. He may not be a mexican, but he could be an asian or a singaporean ^^. You never know right? Why not keep your options open and let nature takes its course. Go out with the asian geek!! Not the mexican weirdo!!!

______________________________________________________________

devil: swifty, think twice. getting into a relationship is cool. toy with his feelings and then dump him. awesome!!

angel: I shouldn't say this. I'm being jealous, that's all. damn, you should let her pursue her happiness!!

devil: blahblahblah. shut the f**k up angel. Iknow I want her!!

ARGH. screw the devil. I'm letting swifty to choose. this is gonna be the worst decision I have ever made in my life for I see no purpose in living anymore.

Swift Dream

Dreamt of her last night
That dream was really bright

We chatted like we were best friends
I prayed that the night will never end
I begged her to gave me a piece of her
She said that is impossible
So she signed for me on a piece of paper
Telling me to remember her forever.

She said she will run a million miles
Just to keep my smile

And I smiled.

Amateurish poem. With no structure. No brilliant choice of word. No sequence.
But hey, that was my dream last night okay. damn cool. I dreamt of swift!!

It's like a message.

16th August

Sorry for not blogging for so long. months. but i didnt really feel like blogging. probably because there isn't much to write about.

But today is different. Never in my life have I felt so contented and satisfied and proud. Not of myself, but of my boarding school mates who had to face the audience and give their speeches. I realized that I am one who don't usually give a lot of credit to people for what they have done and their efforts. Well, there's nothing wrong and harmful for praising someone for what he or she has done right? Just now at the toastmasters speech contest, I believe I have clapped more sincerely than I have ever clapped in my entire life. That's because I'm truly impressed with what Benjamin Chin, Izumi, Alexander, Nicholas Lui, Yong Zhi, Yang Cheng, Zi Song have presented to us. It was an absolute feat to enjoy and I hope I'll never forget the evening.

Yang Cheng's speech was very good. I know he can use his language skills well and he did that really well. He is someone of whom I admire a lot, for his toughness and willingness to learn. And of course, friendliness.

Izumi talked about how we should be forgiving towards others even if they have done us wrong in one way or another. He said it with much conviction and I loved how he was so exuberant in his speech. "I forgive you" was the essence of his speech.

Nicholas talked about school life. How it is beneficial and stuff. Now that we are nearing exams, I dont think I will agree with him a lot. His speech was brilliant nonetheless.

Zi Song was hilarious! hahaha, so much actions and humour injected into his speech. Simply loved it.

Alexander's speech was the last of all. His speech was de best. I feel. Well, each to his own, but having some knowledge of his upbringing and stuff, I kinda feel for him. He's really brave to come out of the closet, not afraid to be open about his thoughts and feelings. And he's just not scared of societal norms. He's truly courageous. Alex ended his speech with a rather emotional note, something having to do with being a single child and his mum as a single parent. It was a tearful moment for Alex and his mum, cos it was truly amazing. Having known him for some time, I kinda understand what his life is like, not much, but enough to make me tearful. I can never feel what he feels and that moment was the most sincere, honest, truthful words I have ever heard in my life. If you know him well enough, you will feel blood gushing up your face, just like me.

I didn't expect the night to be so enriching. It beats the shit out of what I have learnt for my entire life. Maybe I type all of these just because there's an adrenaline rush inside me but I truly learnt a lot.

Sometimes I'm a bit judgmental about people. Even to those whom I dont even know. I want to stop being judgmental. I'll try.

good night for now. I'm feeling kinda sick. damn you matt.

English Lesson

Today we all had the best english lesson ever. It is de best.

Instead of going through content and all the lesson crap, Mrs Ng Mui Eng allowed us to play charade in her class, and truth or dare too. It was something out of the ordinary, so sudden that everybody did not feel too comfortable with the idea, initially. But after playing the charade, everyone went high. We were having so much fun. The kind of fun we have is nothing like watching Mr SLim nailing Nelson, or witness Laurang flirting with Greg, it was childhood fun, something that we have been deprived of ever since we started schooling. No exaggeration intended here. Honestly.

We played truth or dare as an entire class, and it was the most interesting. It was weird to hear so much personal stuff about the peers you have been having english lessons with for almost two years now, but nonetheless, intriguing. In fact, I bet you it was the most honest, truthful 'discussion' we ever had as a class. I did a song performance (lol!), Nelson did hardgay, Ming got kissed, Bradley was dancing around one of the HCI staff (super funny!!!), Sam was lying down outside the classroom for passersby to gawk at, ephraim did a slut dance directly at Mrs Eng, greg did a simulation of 2 Girls 1 Cup with Zhihao (HAHAHA), sean did a wrestling move on sam, and many more crazy stuff. Some others were forced to reveal their crush or whether they still have their v-card :D

Most importantly, Mrs Ng told us something about herself which has to be kept within the four walls of the classroom. She's really brave to tell us something like that because it is something so personal and no teacher in hwachong will ever do that. We have to be more cautious now of what we say.

2nd August

This day has been a surprise. Really, I didnt expect so much hype for my sexteen, oops i mean sixteen, birthday. I really didnt.

HAHA AND SO MANY PEOPLE WISHED ME ON FACEBOOK. UBER COOL.

I kinda expected that alex and some others will celebrate for me but my idea of celebrating did not mean 90 people!! Nevertheless, it was a pleasant surprise. I loved it.

Yesterday, some of us went to eat at seoul garden for dinner. MY TREAT. junyi siheng alvin irvin and josh. We ate till the workers had to remind us that they will be closing the buffet counter haha. We didn't give a crap about whether the food was cooked or not, it doesnt matter :D So predicatably, we diarrhoea-ed the next morning. nice. I had a great time yesterday night, and I thought my birthday would end there. But it didnt :)

siheng and junyi gave me a tennis cap:) and irvin and others are gonna get me a tennis shirt :) thanks guys :D:D:D

Oh oh, irvin wrote a really cool blog post about last night. And his picture was awesome!! thanks buddy :]

That was the 1st of August, a day before my birthday.

It will always be the world's blessing that a certain boy was born on 2nd August. The birth was so important that it changed the world, for the better. ME WAS BORN!! I'm a premature (and thank god i am a premature if not i'll be 'celebrating' my birthdays on exam dates) BUT I am 1.81m tall and 63kg heavy. So unlike a premature eh? Thanks to my mummy and papa and my ahma and popo and yeye, I have strong bones and humongous muscles and eight pacs, something like Arnold Swarznager. These are the people I owe my life to. Without them, the world would not have been so beautiful. haha.

So 2nd August.

Woke up and received many smses, which brought a smile on my face (lol!). But that's not the end. On facebook, I got messages from friends! Seconday school friends, primary school friends, overseas friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, etc. I LOVE IT!!!!

Came to boarding school. The afternoon was dreadful and draggy. It was boring and dull. It was lifeless and humid. It was not the afternoon anyone will like. But well, what follows in the after-afternoon was more than I could wish for. At first I thought I will receive birthday wishes from people, which I did, and nothing more than that. I was wrong, thank god I was wrong. You see, after the buffet dinner we had, I went to the washroom to pick out all the food stuck between the brackets on my braces. Then I went back to the dining area and all lights were all. At that point in time, I had a slight inkling of what was gonna happen, but I wasn't sure. I walked in and tried to mingle into the crowd, which is surrounding zisong with the cake in his hands. Honestly, I did not know what to do. Nobody else did because it's supposed to be a surprise! I disrupted their plan, and I knew I had to salvage it, if not their efforts will go to waste. So, being the quick-thicker I am, I tried to act as if I didn't expect a celebration.

I hid behind the pillar and I appeared to be super duper shocked when they started singing the birthday song. It was hilarious and thoroughly enjoyable. If only that moment can be reenacted. haha jkjk. The act turned out to be better than a 'surprise' and I am glad I did what I have done :))

OH AND I RECEIVED A TAYLOR SWIFT POSTER FROM ALEX!!!

There is a tradition in IBP that every birthday dude has to perform for his audience. Some people asked me to sing, but I wouldnt do that cos I wasnt prepared to sing Taylor Swift and it would have been too cheesy. Being a quick-thinker :) and with junyi's suggestion, I requested Nicholas Liu to dance for me. It was so sudden that even the zihigh niclui was shellshocked haha. So being the Mr Nice Guy, I did a dance around nic lui, with him being the pole and me being the well, pole dancer. very fun!!!

Alex matthew derrick zhengyi chongjiat celebrated the birthday once more when we returned to the boarding school. I appreciate their efforts and I am very thankful for what they have done for me.

I want to thank all (love you peeps) who have wished me and organized the celebrations and bought the cake and printed the poster!!!

alvin, irvin, siheng, junyi, josh, lester, alexander, gordon, zisong, matthew, derrick, ling feng, gohid, shicheng, izumi (for the cake-smearing), jonathan seng, julian, darren, guangyan, Alexandria, Cheryl (thanks for your comment on facebook :D), Mr Tan CG, bradley, yu song, jia quan, walter, zhengyu, chongwe, fang, alan, adeline, adabelle, ning, tricia, greg, dennis, phoebe, daniel, kenji, weiliang, gary, yinhong, yijing, nigel, jovina, yuquan, daryn, zhihao, nicholas tan, nicholas liu, shaojie, yonghwee, kahhow.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS ALL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This has been the best birthday yet.

A Clockwork Orange

I'm glad I watched the film. It was simply intriguing, albeit disturbing too.

The plot sounds really familiar but the way the story was told was absolutely...different. The film was filmed (lol) in the 1970s and some aspects of the movie looks extremely modern, like as if it is a forecast to the future. Loved it tons. Highly explicit and violent, but definitely essential and vital.

Arousing yet disturbing. Guilty yet pleasurable. Enjoyable yet worried. very beautiful irony, the film.

Daring and controversial.

very naise !

School kicks off...with a teacher blaring away early in the morning. brilliant start. Kinda foreshadows what the semester is going to be like. Screaming, blasting, throwing, hauling, kicking, punching, killing. Things are that bad. And guess what, it's only the first week since school reopened! How exhilarating...

Played soccer with the guys just now. Damn, I almost scored a goal. lol. Alvin whole day "Anderson ah, good buy sia. I think he is the best brazilian in the team la. damn valuable player". I appreciate your compliment dude. It's very rare that people praise Anderson...with little sarcasm.

Today was kinda crappy.

woke up with an effing sorethroat and feel feverish all over. But I still got up for tennis. That is a must-go. Tennis was alright, we practised groundstrokes and learned volley today. A pity a single session only lasts for an hour and we didn't even manage to try out playing at baseline. Nevertheless, I managed to hit some balls but not exactly with precision. I am damn pissed at myself for being so impatient, which is totally pointless. argh.

oh alvin, I ain't giving up yet. not just yet. after last night's success. haha

Pop goes the weasel, so suddenly

It's all so weird, isn't it?

First there was, I mean is, the Iran dispute. It involved everyone in Iran, and also strangers from across the globe. People start wearing green t-shirts, or green pants, or green armband, or pin on green ribbons. The atmosphere in Iran was filled with so much tension that no one would expect either party to give in to the other. It seemed like it will go on forever, until..

King of Pop, Michael Jackson died so suddenly.

Although I am not a MJ fan and is very freaked out by his natural whiteness, his death came too sudden. It just doesn't see real. I woke up in that fateful morning, hoping to hear good news that Federer has triumphed another opponent, but bamn, my brother told me MJ is dead. I went like, "Oh really? Ouch, it must have hurt." I didn't consider the impact of his death until I watched the news and withnessed millions of people worldwide moonwalking to his music. It was magical. Never in my life have I seen something like that. The world is actualyl going crazy over a pop singer. Some people say, he's not any pop singer you can easily find on street, he's KING OF POP. Mind you, king. Some even say he has reinvented music videos entirely, claiming he was revolutionizer, an inventor, a maker, a legend, an unforgotten, the king. Now that he's dead, I guess it's not very nice to criticize his life and mimicks eh? Let's just say he got confused about making decisions after fame hit him. It must have hit him REAL hard.

The point is, so much is going on these days. First Iran, now MJ. What can we expect tomorrow, or the day after, or next month, or next year, or next decade? We can't. In fact, so much of these things don't lie in our hands. You won't know whether swine flu will hit you. You never know until you start sneezing and snorting simultaneously. Life is so unpredictable. Life is so damn unpredictable. And I have no clue whether that's good or bad.

The entire was spent rather fruitfully...NOT. I was playing fifa online 24/7 and am feeling extremely guilty about that. Alvin has finished like 99% of his work. Damn him. So now, I am uninstalling my Fifa Online 2 and deleting the installation file. Desperate times call for desperate measures. This is definitely an emergency.

Somehow my holiday seems so boring. There is no training, there are no school activities, I'm not going overseas, nothing! nono, I dont miss training at all. I still need the break, I guess. But it will not for long before I get forced into running again. To prevent that, I have been racking my brains how to shake the pressure off. help me guys.

After witnessing Federer complete his Grand Slam career, the belief in me rekindled once again. The swiss national song was played yesterday night when Federer won, but watch out people, in a few years time, you shall hear (don't be surprised) the ear-soothing Majurah Singapura. I will be on stage claiming my first Grand Slam title at Roland Garros,  beating Rafael Nadal 7-6, 7-6, 6-7, 6-7, 7-6. I will be the winner, no doubt. But I am the one who holds my own fate. I need to make that happen. Who's with me!!

26th April

Last week was a honeymoon period for all trackers (and field-ers). I thought this year was the toughest one we have ever experienced but we still emerged as champions, although not unscathed. We ended the season knowing that our opponents are getting stronger and we can no longer solely depend on the throwers. However, let us savour this moment victory and glory, for it will be short-lived once training resumes. The one who has made this possible is none other than our beloved captain, Sam Kee. By far, he is the most responsible, most thoughtful, most inspirational the Hwa Chong Track and Field Team has ever had. For that, I applaud Sam for his brilliant and irreplacable captaincy. No one can ever replace him, not even me.

Last week was heavenly for everyone, because we got to skip several lessons and even had a half-day holiday. However, we will have to pay the price for our absence this week, for all the tests shall flood us incessantly, and I have my reasons to believe that it will be worse than any tsunami you have ever experienced. I can't wait for this week to be over. I can't wait for hell to be over. damn.

17th April

Yesterday, Sean smashed three records with his 4.36m jump. Brilliant.

Today, Siheng cut two runners to obtain fifth (I think). Should be a boost for him. go siheng. i will go down on monday to support you.

But the only thing left to reget is my illness. I aint going to use it as an excuse for my poor performance today because clearly, i should have taken care of myself. Knowing that everyone is falling sick, I should become anti-social at least for a week. But I didn't. Being the Mr Nice Guy, I ended up contracting a throat infection. And bamn, zero points this year. Something i will wish to banish from my head.

At least Nationals is over. Time for me to set new goals. new, as in really new. Irvin and alvin may not what i am talking about.

I really do wish that HCI can win both the B and C div. Although we are on a really safe position (leading by 30 points), it's better not to relax on our pursuit for another year of glory. But A div seems tougher. RJC is pretty strong this year. Whatever the case, it will be best if all divisions can win the championship title.

Jiaming once told me that he felt disappointed over his long jump performance. He got 7th position i think. He knows he should have done more. He knows he could have gotten more points. But in my opinion, he has excelled in his own ways. He may not have won the competition, but he showed me his willingness and desire to achieve. I lack that.

Sam's speech:

Track and Field Team'09

To my dearest Track and Field team, I pen the following heartfelt words

The past months have been a very trying time for all of us; innumerable trials to overcome, the myriad barriers that constantly seek to put us down, and the countless expectations to live up to. It was not an easy endeavor; no one ever said that it would be so. Often a bed of roses, Track and Field is, to the unwitting observer who perceives our achievements and accolades as granted. But little did he know about the thorns that lie inconspicuously among the shrubs.

Throughout the past few months I have seen you climb your way up the ‘bed of roses’ that Track and Field is; albeit some not being as steady as others. Some, not as fast. The passion and determination that you so ardently display in this climb is truly commendable. That being said, it is not how quickly or steadily you climb that truly matters, but how you have grown through it all.

Your experiences, be it disconsolate or heartening, would have contributed positively to your personal growth. Some of us may have gotten injured, or regret neglecting trainings due to our other commitments, but it is through these painful experiences that we learn how to do it right the next time round. On the other hand, some of us may have experienced vast improvements in trainings and are ambitiously waiting to take the centre stage at the national’s. It is through these positive experiences that you reflect; remembering the taste of success and striving to out-do yourself again.

We have all emerged from the past few months as stronger individuals; for what does not kill us only serve to make us stronger. It is now time for us to display what we’ve been training so hard for at the national’s. It is the final lap which the past generations of elites before us have run. The baton is now in our hands.

As you run your races, throw your implements, and jump your… jumps (lol) ahead, I urge you to do so with the camaraderie of the team in mind. As we go through this challenge together, we often need to depend on one another for the support and encouragement that we so essentially require. I urge you too, to be proactive in offering these words of care and concern to your teammates running this long race with you. Appreciate and reciprocate the sincerity of your comrades and pass this kindness on.

Please bear with me while I reiterate once again the significance of this legacy upon us. The Track and Field team was never an ‘overnight success’. Our present achievements and success are largely due to the generations of seniors before us; whose dedication, commitment and passion created the illustrious history that we so proudly boast about today. Will we continue this tradition of excellence that our juniors many years down the road will fondly embrace and honorably promote? I believe the answer is in your hands.

As you spread your wings and take flight in the coming two weeks, I wish you the strength to beat the giants in your lives, the fortitude to overcome the trials that await, the perseverance and will of mind to win. Remembering the outcome is not important; for that is easily documented in pen and paper. Aim instead to remember the process; because it is the intangible experiences that are truly important.

It starts on Monday. The entire school’s behind us; cheering, supporting and watching…

We will do them proud.

Yours,
Sam

Best speech ever. Sam, you should really try running for presidency next time.

Tomorrow is the 3km heats. I must qualify. I know i can. let's do it.

5th April

I spent half a day doing this video. Quite proud of myself

Although it's rather amatuerish, like what ysh said, it's really good for a noob.

We had a 3km race on saturday. I thought the performance was alright, even though I should have pushed at the start (as usual). I have to get that into my head. DO NOT RELENT AT THE START. On the same day, every sec 4 had to attend the tan kah kee drama. it was alright. and the finale was hilarious. I slept for five minutes actually. After which, we went out to have supper because we didnt had our dinner. Burger King. Went home with Irvin. Turned on the PC. Signed in on MSN. Irvin talked to me, said he felt like puking because of the cheese he ate. Watched Liverpool struck woodwork 4 times in the first half. Laugh my ass off at their misfortune. But got myself shot when yossi scored the winner. dulan. then sleep.

When I heard about the 800m race results, I was pretty shocked. Joo Ern did a 2:05, Sim did a 2:07, Irvin did a 2:19. It was a great performance. All of them, given the circumstances. nice one!!

April Fool's Day

the first of april.

to lighten our mood, several of us in boarding school decided to carry out an April Fool's joke. We made prank calls. I tell you, we had a helluva fun duping alex, laughed at guangyan's reaction, but the highlight of our series of prank call was the one made on Josh.

Mr Surveyer: "hi, good evening sir. Are you Mr Josh Lim?"

Josh the squasher: "ya...."

Mr Surveyer: "Sorry to disturb you. I am a researcher from Media Development Authority(not!). You have been specially selected to take part in our survey for a research."

Josh:" huh?"

Mr Surveyer: "The first question is 'What are your views on pornography on the internet?"

*Silence for 5 seconds*

Josh: "I tell you what, WHY NOT YOU GO SUCK MY DICK?!"

Josh: "OKAY, MAYBE MY DICK IS TOO BIG FOR YOU TO SUCK, YOU SHOULD GO FIND A SMALLER PENIS!!!"

that was Josh's response. Incredulously smart. His words are a bit crude, but well, that's Josh!

Disclaimer: The above conversation is not intended for any flaming whatsoever. Imitation of an authority is used to jack the caller; it was not intended for any purpose except for having fun. No harm is intended. We apologise for any harm caused though. The receiver realises who we are. THIS IS AN APRIL FOOL'S JOKE.

27th March

So many thoughts went through my mind in that 2 hours of reflection.

what sir said is true and I KNOW that it is true.

I realise that I am aware of such a problem of "respecting the no. 1 too much" in our team.

2 weeks can change a lot of things and things will change.

I hope that happens. Who doesn't?

As usual, "hope" and "faith" isn't sufficient to carry ALL OF US through. I repeat, ALL OF US. It's not you, it's not me, it's not they, it's not we. IT'S ALL OF US. We ALL have to break that barrier and come out of our constrictive mindset.

It's not going to be easy to break the norm. Nobody says it is. But we'll try, even if we are left with two weeks to do so.

I tell you, two weeks can make helluva a difference.

And I hope I'm not making an empty promise to myself.

22th March

It's confirmed now.

Tha FA is bent on denying Manu their third consecutive title.

They sent some fagot named Philip Dowd who has ZERO fking experience in referreeing. How can he give rooney that second yellow card for dissent. It's not even DISSENT. Mr Dowd, it's called quick-lets-not-waste-time-and-get-the-game going. If you dont know the rules of football, DONT BE A REFEREE.

Now that we are left with a 4 point lead, which will most probably be cut to a 1-point lead, the FA are getting what they want. Or rather, what they dont want. THEY DONT WANT MANU TO WIN. Or maybe the entire FA is made up of unscrupulous liverpool fans. That is highly possible.

We are hosting Villa next week, without VIDIC, without SCHOLES, without ROONEY. Tell me, how can we prevent a third consecutive defeat. Whatever, I hope liverpool will lose to Villa and then Rafa will be forced to admit that he suck and liverppol sucks and shouldnt have signed that 5-year contract.

Go Fergie. Sway your wand. Perform that miracle. We need it NOW.

Oh, before that, please appeal to the FA about rooney's sent off, even though i dont think the screwed up FA will do anything about it.

15th March

14th March is a day I'll never want to remember.

First, I didn't really do my best in the 1500m race. It was a mistake and I blew the chance. But it'll be the first and the last time things like that will happen. first and last...

Secondly, manu got thrashed by liverpool 1-4. It was a terrible result, conceding so many goals at home. And you know who's the culprit? Nope, it's not Vidic, although he has made several blunders during the match and even got to have an early shower. It's the referee Riley. Throughout the match, he has been disruptive, indecisive and ridiculous. He blocked so many passes and gave the ball away to the opponent so many times, not once, but twice. From that alone, what can you say about a referee who don't even know where to position himself? Next, the send-off. Does Vidic deserve a straight red card? Maybe yes maybe no. It's highly debatable. Most probably no. I think Riley was too dumb to see Rio Ferdinand, who was the last man, and not Vidic. If Vidic deserves a red card, how about the liverpool player who slided Park Ji Sung with both legs? And the worst thing about that is that Riley gave ManU the advantage, without showing any card! Fine, manu blew so many chances and liverpool took all the chances they could possibly get. well done liverpool. but it was a poor defensive approach by the kops. They're satisfied with a one goal lead and played 10 men behind the line. Wow, beautiful football! They only dared to open up the lead when manu became one man down. That's the difference between a champion and a runner-up. Manu will reflect upon what happened yesterday. And liverpool, the time for celebration is over. Time to DESPAIR...

2nd March

I had a terrible night last night. okay, maybe "terrible" is too much an exaggeration but what I dreamt last night were some of my fears.

To start off, I dreamt that Manu lost to Tottenham in the Carling Cup Final. In my dream, I was like," wtf, how did that happen? how can we lose to tottenham?"

Next, I dreamt that I got 10 out of 20 for my Literature test. And honestly, I was abjectly crestfallen. A C6? That's bad. I hope that doesnt come true.

Then, there was the weird one. I dreamt that the organisers for Nationals suddenly change the cross route. Guess what? We had to run around the track for National Cross Country. That'll be like, 15 rounds?? The thought of it is a bit sian, having to run around the track for so many rounds.

BUT fortunately, Manu actually won Tottenham. On penalties. phew. So this may signify that all the other weird dreams may not come true. In other words, there is a possibility that I'll excel for my Literature test, or I may flunk it terribly. I hope is the former duh.

I think I shouldnt sms today. Wait a while. Be patient. Dont rush into things. Right irvin? =D

I cant sleep again. I lay on the bed for two hours, but i just can't fall asleep. I think i have a serious problem of insomnia. shit la. I am so energized that I am doing homework now, despite having had a timetrial just now. The worse thing is that I have another timetrial tomorrow. wtf.

Another day passed.

I ran steeple 2000m today. The result wasnt exactly up to my expectations, but it was still alright. After which, the whole team played soccer. I must say the Alvin is really Petr Cech. He's not-so-tall, but he's superbly brilliant at goalkeeping. He saved a volley from Fang, which was supposed to be unstoppable. Kudos to Alvin!!

A few of us then went to Prince for dinner. had a great time.

1500m timetrial awaits me tomorrow...

25th Feb

today training was rather wasted. mainly because i didnt really make an effort to complete the circuit. probably was too tired. but i'm looking forward to friday's trial

I have heard about Coldplay, but i didnt really listen to their songs. their songs are alright, i guess. but there are some coldplay songs that aren't bad at all. I prefer fall out boy though, with their rock and bam and their music. good charlotte isn't bad either; their rock is one of the bests.

I have to do biology SPA now. And the thought of having to do HRP irks me. I love to procrastinate. And I hate that I love to procrastinate.

Zhi Hao was super funny today. He actually got 54/70 for his Chinese essay, but just because he handed up late, our chinese teacher deducted 50% off his original mark. So that is like, from 54 to 27!! HAHHAHAHAHA!!! FROM A1 TO F9!! FROM THE TOP OF THE WORLD TO THE DEEPEST LEVEL OF HELL HAHA. He was initially quite du-lan about his marks and the injustice, but after that, we all laugh it off :D:D

I'll be taking china studies paper tomorrow and chemistry test. haha. how am i going to study for china studies????? But I hope I can get A1 for Chemistry test. pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease.

Training today was alright. I thought I had to run the trials, but did not need to eventually yay. Then we all played soccer. Me=Anderson. And I screwed up the game shit. I rate my peformance to be 4/10. sad face. But Anderson shall find his form back. Alvin aka Petr Cech, beware.

And quite a number of people told me not to say things so explicitly. Well, I dont care lol

20th February

Today is a brilliant day. I love today.

Training was highly motivational. I broke my PB for 8km and I want to do it again. My spirits are rather high now!! I want to be in the Top 10. It may be tough, but I'll try nevertheless.

Oh, Si Heng had a hole in his shin. super gross. He fell into the drain or something. What I heard was that he tried so hard to avoid falling into the drain that he fell into the drain. zai boh! lol. Sorry siheng :D hope you get your hole sealed soon! (I'm a wonderful friend haha)

Then I did a miraculous thing today. I SCORED A GOAL AGAINST ALVIN COS HE WAS NOT-SO-TALL!! I pumped the ball so high that I was banking on him making a blunder. How much smarter can I get? :D:D:D (again, I'm a wonderful friend) Sorry alvin for highlighting such a senstive issue, but I think it should be recorded in the history books because you're too imbah as a keeper!!

Overall, I have been a great friend today. *Pats myself and says "good job weilun"*

12th February

I havent posted for a looooonngg time. sry

the first, only the first, test week is over. almost all the sciences and the maths are dealt with, erm, except for chemistry. Maths was total screw-up. I was really emo about my results. Careless! Careless! No point lamenting now, eh?

The second test week will be tougher. Using the word "tough" is a cliche but I can't find any other word to describe the gruelling week I'm going to face next week. It's the humanities tests week. really insane. History + Literature + China Studies Studies (I know, wtf right?!) + Geography.

And let's not forget about the competitions I have over the weekend. How am I gonna to study?!
I shant say that I have been procrastinating about studying for my humanities this week because I SIMPLY HAVE NO TIME. This is a valid reason, and it aint an excuse.

OH, I have learnt to pick up some (n!gg3r) slang from Zhi Hao. It's really cool! Bang Bang Stick Stick! super funny.

I havent talked to her for one whole week now. I couldnt find anything to converse about. So...

And thanks sh and hs and mr sng for your consolation. i will strive for de better. yay

31st Jan

It's the last day of the month. the first month of the year. The first month will always pass very slowly, but the subsequent months will pass so fast that i will have to use siheng as an example of "fast". lol.

Anyway, today's training was helluva fun. Yes, we have training on Saturdays. It was a super, super long run. Siheng said we ran for 2 hours, approximately for about 15 km. lol.
The route:
HCI>MGS>McDonalds (KAP)>Ngee Ann Polytechnic> SIM University>Holland Village>Farrer Road> SMGS> Coronation Plaza (yay!) > HCI
Very fun route!

I dont know what's going on and I dont know what she's thinking. I mean, I dont know how she feels. She's too smart to reveal much. Sooner or later, it will be the time for The Confession. And thank god Irvin saved me from becoming gay lol

I'm so guilty. I keep playing fifa online non-stop. I need to get it off my mind. damn. I wasted a lot of time on it. Okay, all these tell me that... I'M ADDICTED. @$#@!$$@!% What a time to be addicted to computer games. And to think that I actually know that I'm addicted. wth man. I dont care, I'm gonna forget about it. For my studies, running and family. I havent been cherishing family time this weekend. omg, come to think of it, i feel sooo guilty. hey siheng, i'm gonna kick off that addiction FOR YOU. haha kidding. lol I not gay. haha.

I didnt know alex reads my blog. I reckon it's all siheng's doing :D

CNY was quiet. I expected fireworks. But the only thing that flickered was the flame that kept the steamboat at 100 degrees. This CNY is the saddest CNY ever. really. So many family problems. I witnessed one of my relatives crying because of a family problem. And heard how another one sobbed over her mother's death. It's really sad. Everything just had to happen during CNY. What was supposed to be a joyous period became so heart-wrenching. sigh. but what to do? It's the adult world. R21. Not that we dont want to help, we cant. I really wish that I could say something, do anything at all, to help them hold back those tears.

This year will be different.

24th Jan

It has been a wacky week, especially since there was the international science forum for youths. well, there's no need to elaborate on this,right...

This week's assembly was highly controversial. Yes, I know it's unbelievable that our Hwa Chong assembly discussions will ever be anything interesting. After what happened on thursday, I was convince that we're living in a highly suppressed society, not permitting much freedom of speech. I hope I dont get into deep shit by saying this, but the thought of it all is irksome. We may be a school of distinction on the surface, but deep down, we are nothing but a bunch of scardy-cats who are afraid of airing their views. I know, it's the result of society. I know, some things cannot be said in the open. I know, it is always wrong to be radical and cynical, especially in our kind of society. I know, even if people make attempts to change things, things aren't going to change that easily. But I don't know why a student, so analytical and courageous, get scolded for stating his opinions. Maybe he wasnt being very objective. But well, nobody is objective. We all have our set of beliefs and opinions, for instance, different people believe in different religions. You can't just force a set of beliefs down someone's throat! Or punish them for not swallowing YOUR opinions!! It's supposed to be a democratic state, isnt it? Maybe not, maybe not... ...

Siheng wants to be the steeple king (which I think he will be) and...
she (you-konw-who) wants to be the sleeping king.
Haha. Their messages are so complementary. How adorable! LOL

20th Jan

was kinda disappointed by the fact that I wasnt able to run the SAA. I felt left out when everyone in the team except for me. But it was actually a blessing in disguise, I thought. I was telling myself repeatedly that I have to go for it, fight for it, train really hard, all so that I can be nationals top 10. No doubt it's a dream but I hope so dearly for it do become reality. Jun Yi is doing great and will do even better if he wasnt injured. Now I shouldnt target joo ern or guangyan. I should be setting higher targets if I want to achieve more! So I set siheng as my benchmark. Well, there's this part of my brain that constantly reminds me that siheng is too fast for me to catch up. But nonetheless, I will try my best, like how rocky did in ALL his boxing matches. In the burning heart...

So you can say that I'm kinda motivated. Hopefully my enthusiasm will last me till the end of track season.

Oh, and we (hwachong) are holding the International Science Forum for Youths. And she's a participant!! I hope I can say hi to her sometime. :P

There was quite a lot of things going on today.

First, the super meaningful CIP at Payar Lebar. One group of us actually gave food to a poor uncle who survived on nothing more than pensions. So we had adopted that family. We befriended him. And I enjoyed that a lot.

Next, we had the SAA x-country race. Sadly, I couldnt run. cos of my illness. But my absence from the race made me think more. I want to run the Nationals. I want to dare to dream. Maybe my enthusiam only last today, but I hope I train really really hard so that I can run in March.

Lol, actually that's not a lot. But these two events took up my entire day. But it was worth it.

Now, Manchester United's match against Bolton... ...

Whoa, what a long week! These five days seemed like forever! Not surprisingly, teachers gave us the perfect weekend we yearn for by throwing us tons of work. Kudos to them for attempting such a brave method to carve us into leaders of the future. I really appreciate that.

My teachers aren't as horrible as last year, I hope. At least I see some hope in my physics and chemistry. Let's pray that things will change.

And my legs are aching like some dog. The thigh muscles hurt whenever I walk up and down the stairs. lol. And there's the all comers meet tomorrow!! And sunday of course. I'm a bit anxious cos this will be my first race for at least one year. wish me luck!

4th January

School reopened on Friday. Which totally stinks. But it feels kinda good wearing long pants, although it's a little warm. And CSE Orientation was... not very appealing. Maybe it's just the first day of the orientation, but everyone seems so uninterested. So on the first day of school, we have received our first piece of assignment, not very surprising actually. The amount of work SLim gave out in a matter of minutes foreshadow the tonnes and loads of work we're gonna get throughout the year. screw that.

Oh, I finally joined the physics tuition. Was a bit expensive so I vow to study hard. The teacher was quite good in explaining the theories, but he spent some of the time talking about curry and potatoes. That isn't good by the way. I do hope that my physics will improve as a result of going to the tuition.

On Saturday morning, several of us had the 8km time trial. Not many people turned up. Only about 10 I think. Siheng did what he could do best - break his own PB. AGAIN. Yeah, you heard rightly, he broke his personal best again. He has a lot of chance this year, really. As for me, I got 35 mins for the trial. It was quite an exhausting run for me. So well, I feel that it was a good time for me. So my next target will be sub 33 min!!
